A bodhisattva statue in 1:12 scale as an accessory for dioramas and display cases. It is supplied unpainted; paints and a base are not included in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
In Mahayana Buddhism a bodhisattva is a being who has set out on the path to awakening and puts it off for the sake of others. Statues of bodhisattvas are among the most common sculptures of East Asian temples and monasteries, and you recognize them by the calm expression, the flowing robe and the carefully worked position of the hands. It is these very features that give the statue a character which works in a scene as a firm point of reference.
The 1:12 scale matches common collector's figures and interior scenes, so the statue will serve as a striking element of a temple corner, a garden, a collector's display case or a shelf diorama. The statue comes out best if you leave free space around it and add only sparingly, for example a step, a stone slab or greenery. The extent of the package and any division into parts is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut off any excess material with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the surface before painting, or the paint will not take well. A base coat works well, and then an imitation of whichever material you want to suggest.
It will be appreciated by diorama builders and collectors looking for an unconventional accessory with a striking shape. Paints, glue, a base and the surrounding decoration are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
