A 1:32 decal sheet with the serial numbers and codes of F-104 and F-86 aircraft in Italian Air Force service.
Responsibility details are not available.
The abbreviation AMI stands for the Italian Air Force, the Aeronautica Militare, and it is its machines that the sheet covers. Both subjects served with it for a long time: the Sabre in the 1950s and 1960s, the Starfighter then for whole decades until the beginning of this century. With service that long, the serial numbers and unit codes became the only thing that ties a model to a particular machine and to a particular time, because the outline of the aircraft stays the same.
According to the name, these are serial numbers and codes for the F-104 and F-86 in 1:32 scale, that is an accessory to the markings from the kit rather than a complete set for a single machine. The exact make-up of the sheet, and the subjects that the individual sets belong to, are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
First give the area a gloss clear coat; on a matte surface a light haze forms around the print. Cut the item out close to the edge, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it releases from the backing. Settle it on the dampened area, correct its position and press the water out with a soft cloth from the center toward the edges. Over rivets and busy shapes use a decal softener, otherwise the decal will stay bridged. Once dry, give the surface a clear coat and the edge of the print will disappear.
For modelers in the large scales who want to build an Italian machine with specific markings and are not satisfied with the options from the box. The kit, paints, clear coat and decal softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
