A resin figure set in 1:48 scale from the Polish maker Mantis Miniatures. It captures American soldiers from Operation Gothic Serpent in Somalia in 1993, that is, from the events known from the film Black Hawk Down. It is a set of figures for dioramas, not a model of hardware. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
Operation Gothic Serpent took place in 1993 in Mogadishu, Somalia, as part of an international mission. The set factually captures members of the American units (operators and helicopter crew) in period gear. The theme is treated neutrally, as a historical subject for modelers.
Wash the castings free of mold release agent, carefully cut off the casting blocks and fit the small items of gear. Glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and sand them with your airways protected. The smaller 1:48 scale calls for a fine brush; after the primer, paint in acrylics and bring out the detail with a wash and dry-brushing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
