A resin set of replacement heads in German helmets with camouflage foliage in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Mantis Miniatures. It is neither a figure nor a kit but a detail accessory for replacing the stock heads on figures of soldiers of the Second World War. The heads are cast in two sizes for a proportional match with various bodies.
Soldiers of the German army commonly added netting and natural camouflage in the form of twigs and leaves to their helmets in order to break up the outline of the head in the field. The set casts these elements together with the helmet, so the laborious adding of tiny parts falls away.
Wash the parts free of the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and bond them with cyanoacrylate. Paint the foliage in shades of green with a fine variation of tone and bring it out with a drybrush, so that the structure of the leaves stands out.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Figures, glue, paints and further accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
