The Bedford OYD was one of the most widespread British army trucks of the Second World War. It served to carry troops, material and equipment on every front and was one of the dependable workhorses of the British and Allied forces. The Bedford OY family appeared in the second half of the 1930s and became one of the pillars of British army logistics throughout the war. The GS (General Service) version had a general-purpose cargo body; the version with a metal body was tougher and easier to maintain than a wooden one.
Finish and paint the detailed engine and the cab before you close up the bodywork. The wheels offer two tread patterns. Use an airbrush for the British khaki; bring out the body and the chassis with a wash and pigments for dust and mud effects. The vehicle looks its best in a diorama scene with figures or cargo.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
