Masking stencils in 1:35 scale for spraying the French army finish of the Buffalo 6x6 MPCV vehicle and for covering the glazed areas. They are applied before spraying.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Buffalo is a heavy armored vehicle on a six-wheeled chassis which serves for route clearance and for work with suspicious objects. It has a tough hull deflecting the blast, thick vision ports and an extending arm with a grapple, with which the crew handles a find without having to get out. In the French army the vehicles carry their own camouflage finish.
The set brings cut masking stencils in 1:35 scale for two tasks: for spraying the French army camouflage pattern and for covering the glazed areas. The stencils are applied directly to the model, so the pattern does not have to be traced with tape or cut out by hand. The instructions enclosed by the manufacturer give the scope of the sheet and the order of the steps.
First spray the base shade and let it dry. Only then apply the stencils according to the instructions onto a dry and degreased surface, press the edges down with the blunt tip of a toothpick so that paint does not creep under them, and lay on the next shade in thin coats. Once it has dried, lift the stencil with the tip of a scalpel at a low angle and pull it off sideways. Leave the masks for the vision ports in place until the end of the painting; they will protect the glass from the clear coat and the wash as well.
The set suits anyone who wants the transitions of the camouflage pattern clean and identical on both sides of the vehicle without lengthy masking with tape. The package holds stencils only; the model, paints and glue are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
