A model of the American carrier-borne multirole fighter F/A-18C Hornet — the single-seat Legacy Hornet — in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The premium Limited Edition contains photo-etched parts, resin parts (wheels, ejection seat) and painting masks, with decals for eight color schemes. A kit to be glued and painted.
The F/A-18 Hornet is an American carrier-borne multirole fighter. The name Legacy Hornet became established for the original generation (A/B/C/D) to tell it apart from the larger Super Hornet (E/F). The C version was the improved single-seat variant with updated avionics and a night attack capability; it was powered by General Electric F404 engines and served with the US Navy, the US Marine Corps and a number of other air forces.
It is worth building the model in subassemblies and testing the fit of the parts dry before gluing. Paint the cockpit and the interior and, if you wish, pick them out with a wash before closing the fuselage. For the best result use a good thin cement for plastic, fine files and, after the primer coat, an airbrush. Apply the decals over a gloss coat and seal them with a matte one.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
