An extensive detail set for the battleship Queen Elizabeth in 1:350 scale from the manufacturer Flyhawk. Accessory parts for a ship model, not the model itself.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an extensive accessory set, not a ship model. Sets of this kind replace the plastic parts of a ship kit wherever the mold necessarily simplifies them: railings, ladders, gratings, platforms, radar antennas, cranes and rigging. On the model of a large ship that means tens of meters of railings and hundreds of small elements, so the difference between a kit straight out of the box and one completed with such a set is fundamental. Flyhawk is among the manufacturers that devote themselves to ship accessories systematically, and the super detail designation means the most extensive variant for a given model.
The Queen Elizabeth class battleships were British ships built before the First World War and among the first to burn oil fuel instead of coal. That gave them higher speed and easier refueling. During their interwar rebuild they were given new superstructures, anti-aircraft armament and thickened deck armor, so they served in the Second World War as well.
The set is for experienced ship modelers who are building a large model and want to take it to exhibition level. Working with photo-etched parts is slow and calls for fine tweezers, good light and above all a calm mind.
It is not a ship model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
