This is a photo-etched detail set in 1:700 scale, that is, an accessory to a kit, not a model in its own right. The set from Flyhawk brings the floater net baskets that American warships carried along the sides of their superstructures and hulls.
Bundles of floater nets were stowed in these baskets, and the crew could take hold of them in the water after abandoning ship. The photo-etched rendering makes it possible to fold the baskets into a three-dimensional shape with faithful mesh that plastic cannot imitate. This set is marked as part II and completes the previous part with further shapes and sizes of basket.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and fold the baskets over an edge into a three-dimensional shape. Glue them with cyanoacrylate to the sides of the superstructures and the hull. Once fitted, spray them with primer; the nets inside can be suggested with a piece of foam or filler. We recommend tweezers and a magnifier.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
