A photo-etched set of insulation panels for the 203 mm main battery turrets of Japanese heavy cruisers in 1:700 scale. Fine detail for the turret tops.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an additional photo-etched set, not a model in its own right. The package holds photo-etched insulation panels of the kind that covered the 203 mm (8 inch) main battery turrets of Japanese heavy cruisers of the Second World War period, in 1:700 scale. The set gives the turret tops a fine texture and a faithful surface that a plastic molding does not capture.
The upper surfaces of the turrets of Japanese heavy cruisers were covered with panels, a linoleum or insulating layer, whose layout is conspicuous when seen from above. The photo-etched parts reproduce this division exactly and, once glued down, do a great deal to liven up the silhouette of the turrets seen from above, which is the most common view of a ship model.
Separate the panels with a scalpel and glue them to the upper surfaces of the turrets with a thin layer of cyanoacrylate glue or a glue for photo-etched parts. Help yourself with tweezers and a magnifier so that the parts seat exactly. Paint them once glued; the edges of the panels can be brought out with a fine wash.
An additional photo-etched set. The base ship kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
