1:24 Porsche Cayman - No.4 Gulf Decals Set

Gulf decals with race number 4 for the Porsche Cayman

A decal sheet for a model of the Porsche Cayman in 1:24 scale. The sheet carries the Gulf color scheme and race number 4, that is the complete graphics of a racing car including the lettering and the race numbers.

About the color scheme

Light blue with an orange stripe is among the best known racing color schemes of all and it sits surprisingly well on the compact body of the Cayman. A model in this scheme works in a display case on its own, because even people who take no interest in racing cars recognize it.

How to apply the sheet

These are decals transferred from the backing paper in water. The procedure is well proven and forgives mistakes, provided you take your time over it.

• Coat the base with gloss clear coat and let it dry out thoroughly, as on matte paint air is held under the decal and the edge turns silver.
• Cut the artwork out closely, soak it for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to move freely over the backing.
• Settle it with a soft brush and press the water out with a cotton swab from the center to the edges.
• Over engraving and transitions use softener, so that the decal is drawn into the shape.
• Once it is dry, coat the whole car, as only then do the edges of the sheet disappear completely.

Who it is for

For a modeler who has a Cayman kit part-built and wants to finish it in a particular racing form. Check the suitability for a given kit by laying the sheet on dry over the finished body.

This is a standalone decal sheet. The kit, paints, clear coat and softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
