The real subject

The Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 is the circuit version of the SLS AMG sports coupe. Under the long front hood sits a naturally aspirated V8 shifted far back behind the front axle, so the car stands on a long wheelbase with short overhangs and leans on the rear axle in corners. Compared with the road original the racing form has wider fenders, a flat floor, a large rear wing and a lightened interior with a roll cage. Cars of this design raced above all in the hands of private teams and reached practically every major European circuit.

What the set contains

These are decals for the color scheme of the car with race number 71, as the manufacturer gives it under the banner of the Russian Team for the race at Monza in 2015. The printing is prepared to the shapes of the parts of the Fujimi Mercedes SLS kit in 1:24 scale, so the artwork does not have to be trimmed or fitted. The base shade of the body itself is sprayed beforehand, the decals do not replace it.

Building and painting tips

They are worked with like classic wet decals. Let the body dry to a gloss, because a matte base shows under the film as a white veil. Cut the artwork out close to the printing, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and wait until the film starts to slide over the paper. Settle it over recesses and edges with softener and let it dry without touching it. Secure the finished markings with a layer of clear coat at the end.
