Studio27 1:24, Lancia Super Delta ART, San Remo / Tour de Corse 1992 is a sheet of water-slide decals for the Lancia Super Delta kit. This is not a kit: the model of the car has to be your own.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Studio27 decal sheet in 1:24 scale for the Lancia Super Delta kit (the Delta HF Integrale of the last evolution). The essential selling point: one sheet covers two events at once, San Remo and the Tour de Corse 1992, so from one set you build two different variants of the car, or you choose the one that suits you better. The car raced in the colors of the A.R.T. team with the crew of Piero Liatti and Luciano Tedeschini. Careful: there is no model of the car in the package, these are only the markings. You have to obtain the Lancia kit separately.
The Lancia Delta HF Integrale is the most successful rally car in the history of the world championship, as with this car Lancia took six consecutive manufacturers world titles, from 1987 to 1992. Super Delta is the designation of that last, most developed evolution: all-wheel drive, a turbocharged two-liter engine, an angular aggressive silhouette with blown-out fenders which set the car apart from the civilian hatchback at a glance. The 1992 season was its last great one, and both events on this sheet belong to it inseparably. San Remo is the Italian asphalt rally run up into the mountains above Liguria, where it goes along narrow mountain hairpins with steep differences in altitude. The Tour de Corse on Corsica earned the nickname the rally of ten thousand corners, with endless winding roads above the sea where the crew has practically not a second of straight to rest. Rallies are run on closed public roads and the co-driver reads the pace notes: the driver flies into a corner he cannot yet see and relies purely on the voice beside him. On Corsica that counts double, as beside the road there tends to be a rock or a drop.
Before you reach for the sheet, the body has to be coated with gloss clear coat. A decal laid on a matte surface silvers, as microscopic air stays under the film and the applied number then looks like a stuck-on scrap of paper. The Delta has markedly domed fenders, the edges of the sills and a spoiler; large sponsor areas will not go across them by themselves, so have decal softener ready, which makes the film supple and lets it flow around the shape. Once it has dried, coat it with clear coat and only then get to the weathering, as the reverse order will scuff the decals. And this car deserves weathering: San Remo and Corsica alike mean dry asphalt, dust from the verges and smears after rain. A light touch of dust on the sills, a darker wash around the fenders and worn paint behind the wheels turn the model into a car that has just finished a stage.
This is a decal sheet, not a kit. The model of the car, paints, clear coats, softener and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
