This is not a kit, but a decal sheet in 1:24 scale from the maker Studio27. It is intended for the Toyota 87C kit from Hasegawa, which has to be owned or bought; in the package you will find only decals, no model, paints or clear coat.
Here it is necessary to be honest, so that nobody is disappointed. A Test Car, that is a testing or pre-season trial car, is not a racing special in a sharp sponsor livery. It is the form in which the team tried the car out before the season, so in this particular form it never started in a race. Test cars tend to be in a simple, untypical finish, often in plain white without full sponsor decoration. Do not expect a colorful racing livery, therefore. For a collector that is on the contrary exactly the reason to reach for the sheet: practically nobody has a car in testing form in the display case and among a row of identical racing models it stands out immediately.
The Toyota 87C is a Japanese Group C prototype of 1987, with closed bodywork, a turbocharged engine and entries both in the domestic Japanese championship and at Le Mans. It was one of the steps by which Toyota gradually worked its way up to endurance racing at the highest level.
Rule number one: a decal is applied to gloss clear coat. On a matte surface air is trapped under the film and the edges of the decal start to silver, and on a light body that shows twice over. On a light or white car a good, smoothly sanded and even spray job is critical as well, because white shows every unevenness mercilessly. The expansive bodywork of a prototype calls for decal softener, otherwise the film will wrinkle on the curves. At the end clear coat and polishing to a wet look. The shade of the body has to match, as the sheet does not cover the whole area and you obtain the paint yourself.
The package contains a decal sheet only. The model, paints, clear coat, softener and glue are not included.
