A Studio 27 decal sheet for a model of the Subaru Legacy RS rally car with race number 11, 1:24 scale. Intended for the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Subaru Legacy RS was the first rally car with which the brand broke into the world elite. A sedan with all-wheel drive and a turbocharged engine mounted longitudinally up front, it still looked like an ordinary family car, and it is exactly that mismatch between the civilian shape and the competition role that makes the Legacy such a rewarding subject. The decals capture the livery of the car for the rally held in New Zealand in 1990, from the days when the model was still settling in on the stages.
A complete decal sheet for one car with race number 11 in 1:24 scale. Besides the race numbers, the sheet carries the lettering and the color areas of the bodywork. The sheet is prepared for the Hasegawa kit, so the outlines of the parts follow the shapes of its model. The placement of the individual decals on the body is shown on the enclosed diagram.
The surface must be smooth and glossy; over a matte clear coat a white halo forms around the decal. Cut the decal out close to its outline, soak it in lukewarm water, let it rest for a few seconds and slide it off the backing paper onto the dampened area. Fine-tune the position with a brush, then blot the excess water away with a paper tissue. Over the shapes of the bodywork a decal softener helps, so that the decal settles into the recesses and up to the edges. Once dry, give the whole car a coat of clear varnish, which hides the edges and protects the decals.
For the builder of rally cars who wants the livery to be accurate and is not satisfied with the decals from the box.
The kit, paints, varnish and decal softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
