A set of refining parts for a model of the Nissan Skyline GT-R in the form for the Japanese JGTC championship of 2003, in 1:24 scale. Intended for Tamiya kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Nissan Skyline GT-R is among the best-known Japanese sports coupes, and in circuit form it also appeared in the Japanese touring and sports car championship, JGTC for short. The racing form differs from the road car mainly in its aerodynamics: widened fenders, a front splitter and a large rear wing. The set matches the appearance of the car from the 2003 season.
This is an addition to Tamiya kits in 1:24 scale, not a model in its own right. Photo-etched parts have real thickness and a sharp edge compared with plastic ones, so small elements come across more delicately on a finished model and have a real see-through. The breakdown of the contents and the placement of the individual parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with pliers, otherwise they will bend. Make the bends along a ruler or in a bender and press with a short, even movement. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a really small quantity, ideally with a pin; roughen the area beforehand with fine sanding paper and degrease it. Metal holds paint worse than plastic, so apply a thin layer of primer to it and only then the top shade.
For builders of car models in 1:24 scale who want to move the detail of their kit up a level and who do not mind working with very small metal parts. The kit, the paints and the glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
