The real subject

The Red Bull RB6 is the Formula 1 car with which the Red Bull stable ran the 2010 season. It was one of the most successful machines of the year and its shape is still among the most striking that started on the circuits at that time: a very high nose, a slender rear end and carefully worked-out aerodynamics around the floor. The set relates to the form for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

What the set is for

This is an addition to one particular kit, to the Tamiya item with the number 20067 in 1:20 scale. It therefore does not hold the basic model but the parts and markings with which a kit is converted into the form for the race in question. The manufacturer's instructions give the range of the contents and the sequence of fitting; follow them also in deciding which original parts of the kit will go unused.

Building and painting tips

Before gluing, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry; grease from the fingers is the greatest enemy on small parts. Join the plastic parts with modeling cement for polystyrene and the parts made of other materials with cyanoacrylate glue applied drop by drop. The body of a Formula 1 car needs a smooth and glossy surface, so spray the paint in thin coats and let it dry properly between them.
