A control lever for the cockpit of the Blackburn Buccaneer S.2 in 1:48 scale. A tiny detail, but clearly visible under an open canopy, from Quickboost.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail for the pilot's compartment of the British carrier attack aircraft Blackburn Buccaneer S.2 from Quickboost. It replaces the simplified part and makes most sense where you plan an open cockpit. The airframe kit is something you provide separately.
The Buccaneer was designed for attack at low altitude and high subsonic speed, where an opponent loses it below the radar horizon. The S.2 version received more fuel-efficient Rolls-Royce Spey turbofans, thanks to which both its range and its takeoff weight increased. Its recognition features were a fuselage with a pronounced waist according to the area rule, a rotating bomb bay door and leading-edge blowing. It served with the Fleet Air Arm and later with the Royal Air Force, and saw combat as late as the Gulf War.
Paint the lever separately from the rest of the cockpit and fit it right at the end, otherwise you will rub it off during handling. The base is a dark interior shade, the grip is worth setting off and the switches on its head can be picked out with a dot of paint applied with the tip of a needle. A dry brush along the edges then adds the modeling that shows under an open canopy.
Paints and glue are not included.
