Waterproof 800 grit sandpaper by the Japanese brand Gunze, four sheets in the package. A fine step for smoothing areas out before a primer and a clear coat.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package holds four sheets of sandpaper on a waterproof backing. 800 grit is the fine step with which an area is smoothed out after a coarser paper has leveled it. The marks left by something around four hundred grit disappear at this stage and the surface is ready for a primer. It is used between the individual coats of a clear finish as well, where it knocks dust specks and the grain of the spray down without breaking through to the plastic.
Sand wet, with light pressure and in short strokes. A fine paper is easily clogged by sanded paint, so rinse it as you go. On flat areas it pays to stretch the paper over a hard sanding block, on curves a soft backing is enough. After sanding, rinse the area and let it dry completely, because residual moisture under a spray coat creates dull blotches. Do not inhale the sanding dust.
For modelers who want a smooth surface under a gloss clear coat and a clean transition between coats. The fine grit makes up the second half of a set whose coarser steps serve to remove material. Setting it to an unprepared surface makes no sense, because it will not level the marks of the coarser sanding by itself and will only clog quickly.
The goods hold the sandpaper only. A sanding block and a model are not part of the package.
