An add-on set of covers against foreign object damage to the engine, known by the abbreviation FOD, in 1:48 scale. Intended for the Revell kit; the model itself is not included in the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
The abbreviation FOD stands for engine damage caused by a foreign object drawn into the air intake. A forgotten tool, a bolt or a stone off the apron is enough and the jet engine is due for repair. That is exactly why parked aircraft get covers and plugs fitted over their air intakes, usually in a conspicuous color and with a trailing tag, so that the ground crew notices them before the aircraft starts to roll.
On a finished model these covers say at first glance that the aircraft is parked and going nowhere. The model gets a different story than an open intake on a machine in flight: an empty parking spot, preparation for a sortie, a technician at work. The set is prepared for the Revell kit in 1:48 scale.
For modelers who build an aircraft in a ground scene or a diorama and want it turned out the way a machine really stands between flights. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
