This is a resin detail part, not a model in its own right. This small but striking accessory replaces the exhaust and outlet parts of the power units in the plastic kit of the CH-47D Chinook helicopter from the maker Trumpeter in 1:35 scale. The accurately cast parts carry finer and more faithful detail than the plastic parts from the box, and the outlets tend to have realistically open mouths, which molded plastic often lacks. The base kit has to be owned, as this set only improves it.
The CH-47 Chinook is an American heavy transport helicopter with a characteristic arrangement of two tandem rotors. It is powered by turboshaft engines placed at the sides of the rear pylon, whose outlets are clearly visible on a model. The CH-47D version is a modernized variant with more powerful engines and improved avionics, committed with a number of armies around the world.
Carefully separate the parts from the casting block with a sharp modeling knife or a fine saw and clean up the cut faces. They are glued exclusively with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), as cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Before gluing, wash any residue of the mold release agent off the parts. Paint them separately; you will bring the metal outlets to life with dark shades and with sooting using soot pigments for the effect of exhaust gases.
