Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat — resin engine cowling and cooling flaps in 1:72 scale from Quickboost (Aires). An aftermarket resin part for the Eduard kit, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an aftermarket resin detail part from Quickboost (Aires) that replaces the engine cowling and cooling flaps of the Grumman F6F-5 Hellcat fighter. It is not an aircraft model — it is a replacement part for a plastic kit, specifically for the Eduard kit, which you must own.
The engine cowling with the cooling flaps is a visually prominent part of the fuselage around the radial engine. The cooling flaps at the rear edge of the cowling regulated airflow and engine cooling; an accurate rendering of their shape significantly affects the finished model's overall impression. The resin casting offers sharper detail and a more precise shape than the plastic part in the kit. The F6F-5 Hellcat was an American carrier-based Navy fighter of the Second World War with a powerful radial engine, flown from aircraft carriers in the Pacific.
Carefully separate the part from the casting block — ideally with a saw or a cut, not by twisting it off — sand the surface and dry-fit it against the fuselage. Resin is glued with cyanoacrylate (super glue); ordinary plastic cement does not bond to it. Before painting, wash the part to remove any mold release residue, spray on a primer and then paint according to your chosen scheme.
The detail part is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
