Figures of Afghan mujahideen from the war of 1979 to 1989 in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
From 1979 to 1989 a war was fought in Afghanistan in which Soviet units with government forces faced insurgent groups collectively described as the mujahideen. The insurgents were irregular units with no common uniform: they relied on the mountain terrain, on knowledge of the ground and on moving in small groups. The dress was civilian and local, the equipment gathered and the armament put together from whatever could be obtained.
The package brings figures of mujahideen in 1:32 scale. For figures that is among the larger scales: an adult figure measures around five and a half centimeters in it, so the cut of the loose clothing, the headgear and the footwear all stand out. The set suits both as the opposing side to Soviet vehicles in the same scale and for a scene of its own.
Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry; try the adhesion of the base on one piece. Loose clothing is rewarding to shade: draw a darker tone into the folds and go over the raised areas with a lighter shade. Vary the shades of the cloth between the individual figures, because a uniform tone would turn the group into a uniformed unit, which these detachments were not. Dust on the footwear and on the hem of the clothing will give the scene the dry mountain setting.
For modelers who build scenes from the fighting in Afghanistan and for collectors of figures in a larger scale. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
