Behind every vehicle there are people who keep it running. The set captures German mechanics and the crews of motor vehicles of the period of the Second World War at work, that is figures that belong with a field workshop, with a truck laid up or with an armored personnel carrier in the rear. Figures like these tend to be the most valuable things in a diorama, because they give static equipment a story.
The set holds forty figures in ten poses, that is every pose four times over. The figures are of plastic, are one-piece and need no assembly; they are supplied unpainted, in the color of the material. The smaller number of poses is balanced by the quantity of pieces, thanks to which even a more extensive scene can be filled, or part of the figures kept for another diorama.
Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry completely, because otherwise the paint may not hold on smooth plastic. A thin layer of base coat from a spray can has proved itself, followed by the basic tones and finally a dark filter into the folds, which at this scale does the most for the legibility of a figure. Small accessories such as a tool or a bucket are best painted before the figure is glued to a base. Finally, go over the finished figures with a matte varnish, because the paint rubs off small figures easily in handling.
The set suits the building of military dioramas in 1:72 scale and serves as an addition to vehicle models of the same scale. Paints, glue, vehicles and a base are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
