A set of plastic figures of imperial mercenary infantry in winter clothing from the time of the Thirty Years' War, 1:72 scale. A set for painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of figures from Mars in 1:72 scale capturing the infantry of the imperial army of the Thirty Years' War, that is the conflict of the years 1618 to 1648, in winter dress. The abbreviation TYW in the name refers to that very war. The imperial forces were filled by hiring: regiments were raised by contractors who brought in both the rank and file and the officers for an agreed sum, and the composition of such a unit tended to be mixed in nationality. Winter meant going into winter quarters, but campaigns did not stop entirely even in the cold. That is exactly why these figures are in cloaks and warmer dress and not in light summer clothing.
In 1:72 scale an adult figure corresponds to roughly 24 mm. A winter subject tempts one to a white surface, but that flattens a scene easily. Groundwork with a trodden path, mud at its edge and snow only where it would really fall comes off better.
For builders of winter dioramas of the 17th century and collectors of historical figures. The figures suit a scene by a fire, a march through a snow-covered countryside and the defense of a village.
Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
