A set of forty figures of German mountain troops from the period of the Second World War in 1:72 scale, in eight poses.
Responsibility details are not available.
The German mountain troops were trained for fighting in mountainous and difficult terrain. What set them apart from ordinary infantry was movement off the roads, work with ropes and climbing equipment, the carriage of loads on pack animals and the ability to fight in winter and at heights where the weather is an opponent in itself. The dress matched that: it was lighter and adapted to long marches.
The package brings forty figures in eight poses, that is five pieces of each pose. The 1:72 scale is small and is intended for building whole units: an adult figure measures roughly two and a half centimeters in it. Such a number of pieces makes it possible to fill a scene with a group of figures and not just with individuals.
Before painting, wash the figures in lukewarm water with a drop of detergent and let them dry; try the adhesion of the base on one piece. Because every pose is repeated five times, vary the shades of the jacket, the trousers and the equipment on the repeated pieces and turn them differently in the scene; the group then does not come across as a row of copies. At a small scale the way to the goal leads through a base color, a darker tone drawn into the folds and a lighter one pulled over the raised areas.
For modelers and players of historical battles who build ground scenes of the Second World War at a small scale and need a larger number of figures at once. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
