A box with two grass mats measuring forty by twenty-four centimeters with a fiber length of three millimeters. Together they cover almost two tenths of a square meter. The mat is cut to shape and glued onto the base, so a grassed area comes about in a moment.
The mat has the same shade and the same fiber length over its whole surface, which is both its strength and its weakness. A large continuous area therefore looks artificial. Break it up straight after gluing: add taller grass in clumps, put in a few dry patches in ocher tones and hide the transitions to lanes and to the track with fine scatter. Only then does it stop being obvious that this is a piece of carpet.
It suits layout builders and diorama modelers who want the basic grassed area finished quickly and then worked up. The manufacturer is a German company specializing in scenery accessories, and production takes place in Germany. Do not throw away the offcuts; the scraps can be used for turf, for grassy lane margins and for hiding the joints between individual parts of an area.
