Gauge Neutral Stone ballast, black, coarse 1.0 - 2.0 mm is a coarse stone scatter in a black shade, packed in 200 g. It serves as a ballast bed, a cinder lane or a stony surface on a diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
A loose stone scatter from the German maker HEKI intended for building a ballast bed, gravel lanes and stony areas on dioramas. The designation Gauge Neutral means that the grain size is not tied to a single model railroad gauge and the material can be used according to what a scene needs. The grain is 1.0 to 2.0 mm, the shade is black and the pack holds 200 g.
Dark ballast suits everywhere the base is to look used and grimy: a clinker bed under track, a coal yard, cinder lanes or burnt ground. It also works well as a base layer under a lighter scatter, because it shows through between the grains and gives an area depth. Natural stone grain has an irregular shape and a matte fracture, so once fixed it does not read as colored plastic.
For builders of dioramas, display scenes and model railroads who want to work with natural aggregate instead of dyed granulate.
This is a loose material. Work in a well ventilated space, avoid breathing in the dust and keep it out of the reach of children.
