The dark brown shade stands in for freshly broken clay, muddy ruts, forest litter and the edges of ditches. The Gauge Neutral line is not tied to a single model railroad gauge, so the same material will serve on a display scene with vehicles and with figures. The pack holds 85 g.
Dark soil gives a scene contrast. It is used where the terrain is to appear damp or freshly disturbed: in ruts left by tracks, in deep prints, under trees and in places where water stands. Paired with lighter soil it creates a natural transition between a dried-out surface and a damp subsoil. The fine grain doses well even onto small areas around figures and can be poured straight into a rut with the tip of a folded sheet of paper.
