Acrylic Paint Yellow

What it is

An acrylic paint from Heki in a yellow shade, one shade in a bottle. The volume of the package and the recommended thinner are stated by the manufacturer; acrylic paints are applied with a brush and can be sprayed once thinned.

Where yellow is used

In a scene yellow is the color that catches the eye before anything else, and that is exactly where it belongs: on construction and agricultural machinery, on warning features, on road markings, on traffic barriers, on advertising panels and on the small details meant to light the scene up. It also has its place in mixing. With its opposite on the color wheel it gives a whole range of green tones, and with brown and a touch of white the ocher shades of straw, stubble and dry grass that make up a large part of every landscape.

How to work with the paint

• Shake the bottle thoroughly before use, otherwise the settled pigment stays at the bottom.
• Yellow shows a dark surface through; over a light base or over white it comes out considerably cleaner.
• Apply thin coats and let each one dry, one heavy coat floods the detail of the surface.
• When mixing green tones, add blue drop by drop into the yellow, not the other way round; otherwise the shade is quickly overshot.
• Wash the brush right after work, dried acrylic will not come out of the bristles.
• Close the bottle carefully, an open container dries the paint out.
