A decal sheet in the large 1:32 scale intended for models of the Lockheed F-104G Starfighter in the service of the Turkish Air Force, aimed at machines with commemorative tiger markings connected with meetings of the Tiger Meet kind. The set is issued as a limited edition. It is not a model of the airplane and not a kit — the package contains decals, and the plastic model has to be obtained separately.
The F-104G was the multirole version of the Starfighter, derived from the original light interceptor and built for the needs of the European states. Against the early versions it received a strengthened structure, equipment for navigation and for attacking ground targets and the ability to carry a wider range of external stores. The Turkish Air Force was among its long-standing users. Striking commemorative schemes arose with the units taking part in international exercises and usually took the form of temporary paint or conspicuous additions on the vertical tail, the nose and the tip tanks.
In 1:32 scale the decals are large and they do not forgive an uneven surface. Sand the areas under the markings with fine paper, polish them and spray them with a gloss clear coat — on a smooth gloss a decal seats without silvering air bubbles. Cut the motifs out close to the edge, soak them only briefly and transfer them onto a moistened area so that they can still be moved. On the large tiger stripes decal softener in two lighter doses proves itself; let the decal soften and do not touch it until it has settled onto the surface by itself. Once dry, go over the model with a matte or semi-matte clear coat according to the look you want.
The package contains decals only. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
