Early MiG-21 Fishbeds — volume two, 1:48 is a follow-up decal sheet from the Tiger Head Models brand for the early versions of the MiG-21. These are supplementary markings for a kit, not a model.

A decal sheet in 1:48 scale following on from the previous set aimed at the early versions of the MiG-21. The second volume brings further markings for builders who have already used the first sheet up or who want to widen their choice of schemes. It is not a kit — the plastic model is obtained separately.
Within the whole MiG-21 family the early Fishbeds form a distinctive group. They have a cleaner, slim spine with none of the later bulky tank, a smaller vertical tail and simpler equipment, so that on a model the shapes themselves come out instead of bumps and antennas. The type spread exceptionally widely and the individual users altered it according to their own needs, which gave rise to a varied palette of camouflage and of ways of marking. It is precisely this variety that is the reason decal sheets for Fishbeds come out repeatedly and in several volumes.
With a follow-up set it pays to compare in advance whether the schemes overlap with what you already have at home — you will avoid buying twice. In the build itself the usual procedure holds: primer, gloss clear coat, decals, sealing. On a Fishbed most of the work is around the nose and the intake cone, where the surfaces turn in two directions. There it is better to divide a decal into smaller parts with a scalpel than to press it into the curve by force. On the vertical tail watch the symmetry against the other side and measure the spacings rather than estimating them.
The package contains decals only. The kit and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
