The Supermarine Spitfire in Soviet service decal sheet in 1:48 scale from the Tiger Head Models brand brings markings of British fighters operated by the Soviet Air Force. It is not a kit, but an accessory to a finished model.
Responsibility details are not available.
The sheet contains printed decals in 1:48 scale meant for finishing a model of the Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the markings of the Soviet Air Force. It is not a kit: there are no plastic or resin parts in the package. The sheet serves as an accessory to a model that the modeler obtains separately. The manufacturer is the Turkish brand Tiger Head Models, which concentrates on decal sheets and accessories for aircraft models.
Spitfires reached Soviet armament during the Second World War under Allied deliveries and served with fighter and reconnaissance units. On the Eastern Front the machines appeared either in their original British camouflage scheme with Soviet national insignia and tactical numbers added, or in a repainted finish. It is precisely the combination of a British airframe and Soviet markings that makes these aircraft a rewarding subject — on a shelf they stand out from the usual British and Mediterranean Spitfires at first sight.
Decals hold best on a smooth glossy surface, so spray the model with a gloss clear coat before applying. Cut the individual motifs out as close as you can, so that a minimum of carrier film is left. Leave the sheet in lukewarm water for only a few tens of seconds and slide the decal off its backing onto a moistened spot, where you can settle it with a soft brush. Once dry, go over the whole model with a matte or semi-matte clear coat — it reliably hides the edges of the film.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
