Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXe in international service is a decal sheet in 1:72 scale from the Turkish brand Tiger Head Models. A set of markings for finishing an already built model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet in 1:72 scale aimed at the Spitfire Mk.IX version with the e series wing and at its operation with foreign users. The package holds decals only — no plastic parts and no model of the aircraft. It is made by the Turkish brand Tiger Head Models, which has long devoted itself to the less known chapters in the history of widespread types. The manufacturer's catalog gives the composition of the schemes.
The Spitfire Mk.IX came about as a quick answer to the appearance of new German fighters: the proven airframe got a two-stage supercharged engine, which gave it back the advantage at greater altitudes. The letter e in the designation does not concern the engine but the armament version of the wing — it combined cannons with heavy machine guns and became the late standard. It was the Mk.IX that appeared most often with other air forces after the war, because it was available from surplus stocks and had a good reputation. Thanks to that it was still flying for a number of years after the fighting ended, in the colors of countries that never built Spitfires.
Postwar schemes tend to be clean and smooth, so with them it pays to remove as much surplus carrier film from the decals as possible. Trim the motif carefully with a sharp scalpel close to the artwork, and only then soak it. Prepare the base with a gloss varnish, seat the decal and press it down with a soft cloth working from the center. On large markings that cross engraved lines or panel joints, cut the film along the line once it is dry and add a decal softener — the decal will draw itself into the groove.
This is a standalone decal sheet. The kit, paints, varnishes and tools are not included in the package.
