The second part of a decal series devoted to the fighter-bomber version Sea Fury FB.11 in 1:72 scale. According to its name it concentrates on three foreign users of the type — Iraq, Cuba and Canada. The package holds the decals alone, not a model of the aircraft or its parts. It is made by the Turkish brand Tiger Head Models, which focuses on decal sheets and resin accessories for less usual subjects. The manufacturer's catalog gives the particular composition of the schemes.
The Hawker Sea Fury was one of the last piston fighters of British naval aviation. It came about on the basis of experience with the previous generation and was powered by a powerful radial engine, which gave the machine great speed and a good rate of climb. The FB.11 version was a fighter-bomber, that is able to carry bomb or rocket armament under the wing. After the end of its service with its home user the Sea Fury reached several foreign air forces and navies, where it was still flying at a time when front-line service was moving to jets. These late careers brought different and often very colorful finishes.
The Sea Fury has pronounced panel lines and a large radial engine whose cowling was often painted in a contrasting color. If a decal crosses the edge of such a part, divide it with a scalpel and seat it in pieces — a single whole motif would ripple on the rounded cowling. Prepare the base with a gloss varnish, let the decal dry fully once it is seated and only then add a decal softener. Check the color bands and stripes on the wings against each other from both sides, so that they line up on the finished model.
This is a standalone decal sheet. The kit, paints, varnishes and tools are not included in the package.
