A small resin set from the Turkish brand Tiger Head Models for models of the A-10 A ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The accessory is not a model in its own right, but equipment with which you close off both air intakes of a finished aircraft and bring it into the form of a machine parked between flights.
The A-10 has two turbofan engines set high on the rear fuselage, between the tail surfaces. Their wide circular intakes are conspicuous in 1:48 scale and on most kits they end after a few millimeters in a blind wall. That tends to be the first thing a stranger's eye notices on a finished model. In service, plugs are slid into the intakes of parked aircraft to protect the compressor blades from ingesting stones, tools, birds or sand, that is from damage whose repair costs incomparably more than a few minutes of a technician's work. They tend to be conspicuously colored and fitted with a flag, so that they are not left on the aircraft. The set therefore solves two problems at once: it covers a shortcoming of a kit and at the same time adds a story to a scene.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water before painting, so that the mold release agent is removed. Cut the remains of the casting blocks off with a saw and level the area with sandpaper wet and with respiratory protection. Try the plugs dry to see whether they fit the particular intakes, and sand any overhang away carefully; resin sands faster than plastic, so go a little at a time. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Let them contrast in color with the gray camouflage of the aircraft, and the result then looks convincing even in a photograph.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the base model. Glue, paints and the kit are not part of the package, unless stated otherwise.
