Cracked plaster, dried mud and a net of fine fissures in old paint are among the things that make a scene old. Drawing such a net freehand and keeping the scale is a Sisyphean task, though, because every fissure has to be thin and still readable. A stencil with a ready-made motif does it for you and measures 60 x 75.1 mm.

The extent and the recommended procedure for applying it are therefore on the box and in the manufacturer's instructions.
Finish the surface first and let it dry, or the motif will press into the soft paint. Press the stencil down over its whole area and apply the paint thinly, so that the fissures stay thin. The net of fissures should not cover the surface evenly; it tends to be denser at the edges, at the corners and in the places where the surface worked or dried out.
The stencil is aimed at builders of dioramas and display-case bases in 1:35 scale who are building walls, terrain or worn surfaces. Even a beginner will manage the application; just try it out as a rehearsal on a piece of cardboard to judge the saturation. The model, a base, paints and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
