A 1:48 decal sheet for the An-2 biplane with markings that the name links to the Ukrainian aerobatics federation.
Responsibility details are not available.
The An-2 is a large single-engine biplane that, despite its old-world looks, stayed in service longer than most of its contemporaries. In sport flying it served mainly for dropping parachutists, and it is in a civil finish that it is rewarding for a modeler: the broad wings and tall fuselage give bold markings the kind of room you will not find on a fighter. In 1:48 scale it makes a sizeable model and every motif on it stands out.
The sheet carries markings that the name links to the Ukrainian aerobatics federation. The make-up of the motifs, their number and which version of the machine they are made for are given in the instructions enclosed with the sheet.
The finish of sporting machines tends to be glossy, so decals get on better with it than with matte camouflage; even so, go over the area under the motif with gloss varnish. Cut out the motif together with its carrier, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and leave it to stand until it comes free. After sliding it on, adjust the position, draw off the water with a soft cloth and let it dry. On a biplane, apply the markings before you fit the struts and rigging, otherwise you will not reach the surfaces between the wings. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined.
The decal sheet is supplied on its own. Paints, varnish, decal softener and a model are not included, unless stated otherwise.
