Aircraft wheel chocks in 1:48 scale, variant five, measuring 12 x 8 x 6 mm. The set contains four pieces and a decal.
Responsibility details are not available.
Chocks placed under the wheels hold a parked aircraft in place until it starts to taxi. In a scene with a model they do the same job as in reality and at the same time fill the empty space around the landing gear. Variant five is given as 12 x 8 x 6 mm, a squatter shape than the other variants in the same range; in full size it would measure just under sixty centimeters.
Four chocks and a decal. Decals are usually applied the wet way: cut out the motif, dip it in water for a moment and, once it releases from the backing, slide it onto a dampened spot, then press the excess water out with a soft cloth. Before you soak the sheet, check the instructions for whether it is a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined for good.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting and paint them before you set them next to the wheels. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on a smooth, non-absorbent surface cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) holds more reliably than polystyrene cement. If you are building a scene on a concrete apron, add a little dust in the shade of the ground to the lower edge of the chock and keep the paint cleaner at the top. Sharp transitions on the edges can be brought out with a dry brush so that the shape is not lost in the shadow under the aircraft.
The package contains the chocks and a decal. The model, a base, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
