An aviation maintenance stepladder in 1:48 scale, variant three. Seven steps and a height of 70 mm, which is roughly 3.4 meters in full size.
Responsibility details are not available.
Taller aviation steps are used where neither the ground nor a low stand will reach: for cockpits set high above the ground, for engines on the upper fuselage and for the tail surfaces. On a model it is an accessory that gives the scene height and at the same time shows the viewer the proportions: from the seven steps he will picture at once how far up the technician has to climb.
Variant three has seven steps and a height of 70 mm. In 1:48 scale that corresponds to a stepladder standing roughly 3.4 meters tall in full size. It is therefore the tallest of the versions whose height the name gives, and it suits machines with a high-set cockpit as well as work on the upper surfaces of larger aircraft.
Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; on a smooth, non-absorbent surface cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) holds more reliably than polystyrene cement. With a taller stepladder, watch the vertical: stand it against the edge of a book or a ruler while gluing and let it dry in that position, otherwise a small error will show across seven steps. Choose the color to suit the scene and suggest chipping on the edges of the steps more strongly than elsewhere, because that is what is walked on. A taller accessory is also more prone to damage during handling, so fit it to the model only at the very end of the work.
The package contains an accessory for a diorama. The model, figures, a base, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
