1:48 German fuel barrels (12 pcs)

The real subject

A fuel drum is inconspicuous but indispensable in a scene. At vehicles, on an airfield and in a store there were always several of them, lined up against a wall, lying tipped over in a ditch or stacked on a truck bed. Drums of this kind were in use with military equipment for decades and their shape changed very little in that time, so they suit a very wide range of views.

What the set contains

By the name, twelve German fuel drums in 1:48 scale. A count like that is enough for a whole dump by a workshop or for the load of a vehicle, and a few pieces are still left over to set about the scene. The material of the parts and how many pieces each drum is made up of is given by the manufacturer's description on the packaging.

Building and painting tips

• choose the glue according to the material stated on the box, and clean and degrease the faces before joining them
• cut off surplus material and traces of production with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down
• do not paint all the drums the same; a different shade and a different degree of wear looks livelier in a scene
• run the rust from the top down, that is, from the lid to the hoops, and dust the lower part from the ground
• lay some pieces on their side or tip them over, as a neat row looks arranged

Who the set is for

The set is for builders of dioramas and display-case scenes in 1:48 scale who are building a vehicle, an airfield or a unit's rear area. It will also serve as an accessory to parked equipment, because a few drums beside a vehicle give the scene its scale. The model, figures, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
