A masking set for spraying the national insignia of the Heinkel He 111 P-1 in 1:32 scale, cut for the Revell kit. The insignia are applied in paint, not as decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is meant for applying the national insignia on the Heinkel He 111 P-1 model in paint. A sprayed marking sits directly in the finish, so there is no film and no glossy edge on the surface and no risk of silvering appearing under a decal. In the large 1:32 scale that difference shows at first glance.
The package holds pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the national insignia, shaped to match the model from the Revell kit. Work out the placement and orientation of the individual pieces from the instructions for the set and from the kit's assembly instructions. The area around the marking is filled in with ordinary masking tape.
Lay the masks down only on a dry base coat, otherwise they will lift the paint with them. First clear the surface of dust and grease, lay the piece on, check its position and only then press the edges down. Spray the paint in light coats and work from the edge of the mask inwards so that it does not creep underneath. Take the mask off as soon as the paint is dry to the touch but the finish has not fully cured; the edge then stays crisp. Any adhesive residue can be wiped away with a cotton bud dampened in weak alcohol.
The set suits modelers who want crisp insignia with no glossy edge, and anyone building a model with a layered or heavily worn finish where a decal would look out of place. The package holds the masking set only; the kit, paints and decals are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
