Pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 in 1:32 scale, cut for the DBMK kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Sea Fury FB.11 was a carrier-based fighter-bomber of the British Fleet Air Arm and belonged to the last generation of piston-engined combat aircraft. The cockpit with its bubble canopy is very much on show on a model, and its framing is one of the features by which careful work is recognized.
In the package are pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the glazing of the model in 1:32 scale. The shapes of the parts follow the DBMK kit; on models from other makers the division of the canopy may differ. The set takes care of masking the frames, so there is no need to cut narrow strips and fit them together laboriously around curves.
First wash the glazing in lukewarm water and let it dry out, so that no grease is left on the surface. Lift the mask with pointed tweezers, lay it to the frame and press the edges down with a toothpick; on a curved canopy work in short sections so that the part does not ripple. Apply the paint in several light coats and lay the interior shade under the frames first. Remove the masks slowly once the paint has dried, at a shallow angle and away from the edge of the frame.
The set suits anybody building the Sea Fury in a large scale who wants clean glazing without cutting by hand. Even a less experienced modeler will manage it, because all the work consists of sticking the parts on and taking them off later. In the package is the masking set alone; the kit, paints and glue are not supplied with it, unless stated otherwise.
