A set of photo-etched parts for the cargo ramp of the Junkers Ju 290 A-5 in 1:72 scale, prepared for Revell kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Junkers Ju 290 was a four-engine aircraft derived from a transport machine and used above all for long-range maritime reconnaissance. Among its recognition features was a folding cargo ramp in the rear fuselage, which allowed bulky loads to be taken on straight from the ground. On a model it is a feature that gives away at once which type it is.
The set brings photo-etched parts for the cargo ramp of the model in 1:72 scale and is prepared for Revell kits. Photo-etched material is substantially thinner than a plastic part, so the edges and the grating look truer. The range of parts and the way they go together is given by the instructions enclosed with the set.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand down the tab that is left. Make the bends over the edge of a ruler or in a bending tool, always in one go, so that no marks from repeated working are left on the surface. They are joined with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) applied in the smallest amount; polystyrene cement has no effect here. Degrease the faces before painting and apply a primer, or the finish will not hold on the smooth surface. It makes sense to fit the ramp only onto the finished model, when you can try out its angle.
The set suits modelers who want the ramp open, or at least suggested in thin material, and who are not afraid of working with small parts. You need tweezers, a sharp blade and a steady hand. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
