The real subject

The Junkers Ju 52/3m was a three-engine transport and airliner with a characteristic corrugated metal skin. It carried one engine in the nose and two on the wing, so even a layman can recognize the silhouette. In the 1930s and 1940s it served in civil transport as well as a military transport and paratroop machine. The crew cabin is at the front above the nose, and behind it stretches a roomy cargo hold with windows in the sides of the fuselage.

What the set offers

Color elements of the SPACE range in 1:72 scale with a raised relief, so that the instruments and the panels do not look like a surface printed with color. According to the name the set is tuned to Airfix kits and aims at the Ju 52/3m g4e version. What exactly it contains is given in the manufacturer instructions; go through them before you start closing the cockpit.

How the elements are applied

The elements of the SPACE range have no adhesive layer of their own; they hold only with glue that you apply. Paint the base and let the paint cure thoroughly, or the joint will not hold. Moisten the backing paper under the chosen element with a sponge and a drop of detergent; only the paper is wetted, and the sheet is not dipped in water. Lift the released element off with tweezers, lay it on a dry and degreased surface and fix it with PVA glue, that is white glue. The manufacturer does not recommend super glue, and do not use a decal softener; its chemistry would attack the printed layer. In 1:72 scale the parts are really small, so have good light ready and work over a mat from which a dropped element can be found.
