1:16 US M24 Chaffee Light Tank (W.W.II) is a large kit of the American light tank from Gecko Models with a full interior, a metal gun barrel, and working tracks.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the American light tank M24 Chaffee in its wartime form, in 1:16 scale. The set includes a full fighting-compartment interior, a turned metal gun barrel with a bore, working tracks and moving suspension, photo-etched parts, and a set of stowage items. The decals cover vehicles of the US Army and Free French units. Figures are not included. At 1:16 scale this is a large model, with the finished vehicle exceeding thirty centimeters.
The M24 Chaffee replaced the Stuart-series light tanks toward the end of the war. It received a 75 mm gun derived from an aircraft weapon, light enough for a light chassis yet effective. Power came from a pair of V8 automotive engines with an automatic transmission, and the running gear rode on torsion bars, giving the vehicle a supple, fast ride. The crew numbered five. The Chaffee reached American units in the final stretch of the fighting in Europe and went on to serve with a number of armies for many years after the war.
Finish and paint the interior before closing the hull, and test-fit continuously to check everything lines up. Assemble the working tracks in longer sections and let them cure properly. Degrease the metal gun barrel and apply a primer before painting. The large surfaces at this scale take well to both bold color modulation and finer transitions, since there is plenty of room for them.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
