A set of unpainted figures of American infantry of the War of Independence in 28 millimeter size, that is, in the usual size for tabletop wargames. The package contains forty figures. This is the first of two infantry sets, which complement each other, so a whole unit can be put together from both. The figures are in hard polystyrene plastic on sprues and are glued with ordinary modeling cement.
The Continental Army was raised on the march and its appearance matched that. Blue coats with colored facings only came in later; at first the soldiers served in whatever they had arrived in, and uniform equipment was a rarity. That is exactly why painting this infantry allows great freedom: neighboring ranks can be in different shades and the scene gains in credibility instead of looking like a parade.
Wash the figures in lukewarm soapy water to get rid of any residue from the mold. Separate them from the sprue with nippers at a distance and trim the rest with a knife. Apply a primer and only then paint. Work from the dark tones to the light ones and finally bring out the edges with a dry brush. With a large group it pays to paint in batches, one color at a time.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
