A set of unpainted figures of Visigothic warriors in 1:72 scale. The package contains twenty-four pieces. The figures in this range are in soft plastic, that is, in a material on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation. That is not a flaw but a property of the material, and it is enough to allow for it beforehand. The set follows on from other peoples in the same range and makes up one collection with them.
The Visigoths were a Germanic people who during the Migration Period reached as far as the Iberian Peninsula and founded their own kingdom there. Before that they entered history by defeating a Roman army at Adrianople and by taking Rome in 410. They fought with spear, sword and an oval shield, and cavalry played a greater part in their army than among the more westerly peoples. Their kingdom in the south fell only with the Arab invasion at the beginning of the eighth century.
First wash the figures in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out completely. Then apply a primer intended for soft plastics, or the paint will crack and flake off once dry. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), not with polystyrene cement. Go over the finished figures with a varnish that seals the surface and increases resistance to rubbing during play.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
