1:72 French Light Ambulance is a set of figures and a period ambulance of the French army in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set in 1:72 scale showing a light ambulance of the French army of the Napoleonic period together with its crew. It is an addition for anybody building a battlefield who wants the rear area in it as well: the wounded, the medical orderlies and the evacuation from the fighting. The figures and the vehicle are in soft plastic, on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation, so a different approach from hard plastic has to be allowed for.
At the turn of the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries the French army introduced a system of light ambulances meant to carry the wounded away straight from the battlefield rather than only after the battle had ended. For its day that was a fundamental change: until then the wounded stayed where they lay for hours. The vehicles were light and fast so as to keep up with the movement of the troops, and they became a model for the field medical services of other armies.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry. Apply a primer intended for soft plastics, or the finish will crack. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the vehicle separately and add the figures to it only at the end. Set the wood, the canvas and the metal fittings apart in shade, or the vehicle will merge into a single surface.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
