A set with a Celtic chariot and its crew in 1:72 scale. It contains a two-wheeled chariot, the team of horses and figures of the driver and the warrior. It is a striking addition to an ancient collection, because a chariot catches the eye at once on the table and gives a force its center. The parts in this range are in soft plastic, on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation.
The Celtic chariot was a light two-wheeled vehicle drawn by a pair of horses. It did not serve for charging straight into a line but for carrying a warrior along the enemy formation: the driver ran past, the warrior threw javelins and, when he chose, jumped down and fought on foot while the chariot waited nearby. Roman authors describe this tactic with astonishment, because they met it nowhere else. In Britain chariots lasted longer than on the continent.
First wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out completely. Apply a primer intended for soft plastics. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the horses and the chariot separately and add the figures only at the end. Set the wood, the leather and the metal apart in shade, or the chariot will merge into a single surface and lose its legibility.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
